A must-try accessible instrument
Download the Clarion for free
Available on iPads and Windows devices, the game-changing Clarion® accessible instrument is now free to try, then buy as a single licence. It’s a must-try for musicians with access needs, both beginners and advanced players, and anyone who doesn’t read sheet music. It’s also an invaluable tool for music leaders and music therapists working in inclusive and accessible settings.
Play music your way
Compatible with a wide range of assistive technology: The Clarion can be played with hands, eye movement, or head movement, using eyegaze technology and head trackers, enabling more musicians to play independently.
An expressive instrument you can progress on, and play in groups with: You can play it solo and with others. The first electronic instrument recognised by ABRSM, the exam board of the Royal Schools of Music, the Clarion is a live instrument that can be played alongside electronic and acoustic instruments. Hundreds of young musicians in inclusive ensembles have performed on it, including the National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO), as well as professional musicians.
Packed with creative features: In addition to being an expressive instrument, the Clarion comes with a library of ready-to-play patterns, including Happy Birthday, Amazing Grace, and Grasswalk from Plants vs. Zombies (BBC Ten Pieces).
The full version of the Clarion unlocks creative composition tools, full note customisation and all 13 instrument sounds.

About Open Up Music
Open Up Music is the charity behind the Clarion. Our mission is to open up music to young disabled musicians, and we do this through the Clarion and our other programmes: the National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO), the world’s first disabled-led youth orchestra; and Open Orchestras, the UK’s largest network of orchestras in special schools.
