Before working on the release of the Clarion through the Clarion Education programme, we collaborated with Google to create Clarion Lite… A taster of the Clarion in your Chrome web browser. This was part of Google’s Creatability series, focused on showcasing how technology could support accessibility.
You can play Clarion Lite using your mouse and keyboard. Or, turn on your webcam and track a point on your body, like your nose. Don’t worry, your images are not being stored or sent to any Google servers while interacting with the experiment.
With this Google experiment, we showed the world some of the Clarion features… The Google crew even came to meet Clarion player Sherwin in Bristol to map out Clarion Lite! But for now, the Clarion itself is only available for purchase in the UK.
The web experience was made by Use All Five, Kyle Phillips, Claire Kearney-Volpe, Luisa Pereira, Yotam Mann, and Google Creative Lab. Special thanks to friends at Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center, Tech Kids Unlimited, and ADAPT Community Network.
